The Woman Behind the Pen
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English Writing from Eastern University in 2007, which I promptly proceeded not to use for nine years. After a series of random jobs – from retail associate and 2010 Census taker to bus aide and purchasing/supply manager for a nursing home – I started working for a digital marketing agency as an SEO content writer. I have written social media content and over 800 blogs for various local businesses, with several blogs ranking in the top Google results for key search terms. I have also helped edit several books (autobiographies, self-help, and devotionals) in collaboration with For Want of a Nail.
Freelance writing combines my two favorite things: absorbing new information and crafting a good narrative. I’ve been passionate about storytelling since I was a kid (as my overflowing bookshelves can attest) and enjoy fantasy, science fiction, and mystery stories.
My husband and I are lifelong Jersey natives and enjoy spending time outside with our numerous animals (3 dogs, 2 cats, a rabbit, a guinea hen, and a plethora of ducks and chickens). When not animal wrangling, I can be found gardening, singing, knitting, and practicing archery.
Having been born with only one hand, I quickly determined that the phrase “you can’t do that” is simply a challenge. From softball and piano to weight lifting and archery, I enjoy solving the puzzle of how to master a skill that doesn’t typically lend itself to one-handed use. I apply this same tenacity and pursuit of perfection to my work and writing.
